Greek weddings are always a special treat to photograph. They are loud, fun, vibrant, and full of laughter. Kaliopi and Michael’s wedding at the Crystal Tea Room exceeded all our expectations. It was one of the most emotional, honest, and happiest wedding days we have ever witnessed.
Crystal Tea Room Bridal Preparations
Kaliopi was getting ready at the gorgeous Crystal Tea Room’s bridal suite. With its old-world glamour style, huge windows, and breathtaking chandeliers, it was a perfect backdrop for wedding getting-ready photos. From the final touches of makeup to the father and daughter’s first look, the morning was filled with lots of precious moments.
Wedding Ceremony at Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Community Church
The wedding ceremony took place at the Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Community Church in Elkins, PA. It was wonderful to document all the special Greek wedding ceremony traditions like the elaborate ritual with the crowns, candles and hand-holding, circling the table and the common cup. The wedding ceremony ended with a special flower petals exit of the bride and groom. Scroll down the post to see the couple’s reaction!
Wedding Reception at Crystal Tea Room
Our main wedding portrait location was Philadelphia City Hall. By the time we got there, the sun had already set. Therefore, we had to adapt quickly to the lack of natural and use our flashes for the entire portrait session. And I must admit, I couldn’t be happier about how those portraits turned out. Furthermore, it was a great reminder for me that regardless of the time of the day, you can create great photos as long as you have such an amazing couple that is on board with all of the crazy ideas their wedding photographers have!
The wedding reception at the Crystal Tea Room exceeded all our expectations. Stunning candlelit tables, the marvelous amber uplighting, exquisite draping all made the ballroom look phenomenal. It was finally time to get the party started. And what a fabulous celebration it was! DJ Taso kept the dance floor packed almost the entire night. Moreover, the heartfelt speeches, endless Greek dancing, everything filled the atmosphere with endless joy and happiness.
Kaliopi and Michael, thank you for letting us witness and document your wedding day story. We enjoyed every second of it and feel so lucky you have trusted us with your memories!
